Construal & “The Self”

Carranza created an installation with elements used in her past years of performance, inviting artists, friends, and viewers who had played an inherent role through collaboration and viewing.

Carranza interacted with the elements on a durational frame, inviting Claudia Bucher, Dino Dinco, Rochelle Fabb, Kristina Faragher, Douglas Green, Asher Hartman, Alejandra Herrera, Patrick Kennelly, Carol McDowell and Dorian Wood to participate by coming onto the stage to do a construal of what they perceived, understood, and inferred from the content, context or meaning of Carranzas’ actions.  Selecting the actions that spoke to them, these guest artists performed "construal" as it unfolded.
